About the event
Do you need something to do with your family so you don't snipe at each other? Or are you alone and looking for something to do during the holidays?
Holiday times can be stressful. Someone is disappointed they didn't get what they wanted, someone else is trying to step away for self-care when their family wants them to be present and everyone gets upset, expectations for a perfect day are ruined and everyone is angry. There's a lot of pressure on everyone. Or, maybe you don't have anyone to spend this holiday with, and you feel lonely and sad. Regardless, you need something to do!
I created this workshop (actually a play-shop since it's not really work) to give everyone a place to play. We will do creative exercises that range from writing to doodling to improv. No experience is necessary, and you can't do it wrong! It's a safe place to take a creative risk, and if you feel a bit uncomfortable at first, I hope by the end you will feel perfectly comfortable. I welcome whatever mood, state of mind, mess in the house, or patience level you are in, as long as you treat each other with courtesy and respect. You are never required to share, no one will grade you on anything, and I will say it again - you can't do it wrong.
Feel free to bring your parents, kids, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, anyone who needs a play break. Sometimes doing something side by side is easier than talking face to face. It can be nice to share an experience with someone - and you won't have to leave home!
Also, you are welcome to attend alone. Here is a group where you can connect, find companionship and acceptance, and have a fun time. Also without leaving home!
I made this super affordable - only $11 per person! I know we've all spent a lot by this point in the season, and I don't want this to feel like a burden. But it's worth a lot more to have an oasis of creativity, play, fun, expansion, possibility, and joy! (Am I over-selling it? I'm not sure. It's a lot of fun.)
